As part of its assurance to curb floods in its council, the authority of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has commenced the rehabilitation of an extensive desilting and channelization of gutters and waterways from Ijede junction to Oke – Oyinbo Street.
Hon. Motuntayo Gbadebo -Alogba, Executive Chairman, Ijede LCDA, and its management team inspected the project which kicked off last Friday.

The project is aimed at tackling persistent flooding and blocked drainage channels in the area.
The intervention, which involves desilting and evacuation of debris, is expected to bring significant relief and provide a lasting solution to the community’s drainage challenges.


During the inspection, Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba urged residents to avoid indiscriminate refuse dumping and embrace proper waste management practices, stressing the importance of maintaining a safe, clean and flood – free environment for all.
